Shopping Bags

I made some shopping bags for my friends as gifts. I used 5 fat quarters per bag. 2 fat quarters for the outside, 2 for the lining, and half of one for the handles. Here are some pictures of them.

Shopping bags from fat quarters

I've been making shopping bags with my fat quarters and giving them as gifts. I use 5 fat quarters in total: 2 for the outside, 2 for the lining, and part of one for the handles. I just sew the outside fat quarters together, make handles and attach them to the outside, sew the lining fat quarters together, then sew the outside to the inside by the top.

New projects

Here's a skirt that I made. It was done with the book Sew What! Skirts: 16 Simple Styles You Can Make with Fabulous Fabrics by Francesca DenHartog. Fabulous book if you want to sew skirts, and it helped me get over my fear of zippers.

Just finished a quilt for my cats

I just finished a quilt for my cats. It's using a technique from 90 minute quilts. I like the cute cat fabric I used on it. Here's Sushi enjoying the quilt.

New blog for work

Well, this is totally unrelated to quilting, but I just started a new blog for work. It's related to software used for computer chip design, and the link is:

This is a blog for Mentor Graphics, and I work with the Calibre product line, for a product called Calibre xRC. Hopefully you'll enjoy reading my blog.

Heart quilt with prarie points

Hey, I made a Valentine's day quilt for my husband, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. The top of the heart was made using prarie points.

Here's a close-up shot.

Pinwheel quilt

I just finished a lap size quilt for my parents. It's a pinwheel design, with pink, blue and brown. I've been working on it since March, and I was able to give it to them for Christmas this year.
